Wijnliefhebbers

Honest review. great for frames, not for studying.
The maps are colorful and easy to navigate but mediocre at best for advanced studies. They lack crucial topographic features and elevations (Massiff central in Southern Rhone for example) and instead of the grape varietals listed under the regions, how about geology information as well (soil, climate). The maps are also outdated some as far back as 2014. Several of the New World maps are missing newer AVAs. Washington map, for example, is from 2016 and missing the newer AVAs like Royal Slope in Columbia Valley which became an AVA in 2020...almost 3 years ago. Loire map is from 2014! I particularly needed the maps for school (WSET3&DIP) and the maps outdated information along with missing topographic features don't allow for accurate studying maps unfortunately.

Complete Map Set
It only took one wine course to realize the importance of wine maps in understanding a region. I love having a complete set to easily and quickly reference. The only consideration is that some wine regions, like Oregon, are creating new AVAs that are not yet reflected in this set (the copyright dates on the maps range from 2011-2019). I did have a printing error on one of my maps, but Wine Folly responded immediately and a new map was sent. Highly recommend!

Excellent detail
16x12 size was a challenge to find a frame that could be used both horizontally and vertically with easy to open clips to swap out maps. I finally found a frame on Amazon, but took a bit of research to find a frame that met all of these requirements. Who would have thought 16x12 was difficult size to frame. As these wonderful maps are subject to wear if not in frame, I suggest Wine Folly add a frame to their retail shop.

Would have been nice
It would be nice if there was a useful; way to store those maps. Like a large picture album. It could be used for storage and to more easily utilize and organize the maps. I paid a significant amount of money for those maps I would certainly pay a bit more for a storage book or something similar.
