Alsace–Aromatic white wines
On the French side of the Rhine River–the border between France and Germany,–lies the region of Alsace. This wine region is most known for its aromatic white wines including dry styles of Riesling and rich, generous Gewürztraminer. 51 vineyard areas in Alsace were awarded the prestigious Grand Cru designation (2011); giving what was originally a small area a greater level of complexity and detail. This map details the locations and names of all the Grand Cru vineyards as well as the names of the villages that line the Alsace Wine Route.
